Who We Are

This is Game of Hoges, a newsletter wherein Bob + Roxanne talk politics + culture + life from lens of married conservatives living Behind The Blue Curtain.

Man makes plans, God laughs.

It’s an apt description for all humans, and we are no exception. When we first thought about collaborating on a Substack, we had many thoughts and we weren’t sure about the best way to help move the needle from here in deepest, darkest blue Los Angeles.

Then Bob cranked up his writing and breaking news commentary on RedState, and Roxanne worked so much as a volunteer Communications Director of the Los Angeles County Republican Party that she was elected its Chairman.

Both of us love being in the fight, and want fellow Angelenos, Californians and anyone else who’s a conservative minority to know that they are not alone.

Twitter—she refuses to call it X and shares political hot takes so strangers can take shots at her instead of doing it on Facebook where family and friends could be mean.
